Our story
2013
MASKA is a gifting design studio & concept store born in Dubai, UAE. Our story started with an inquisitive fascination with the Japanese culture and specifically the Furoshiki, a traditional wrapping cloth.
The founders adopted and adapted this art to better suit the Middle East by using exquisite fabrics and contemporary design, and launched their first store in Jumeirah, Dubai in 2013, MASKA the brand was born.
MASKA quickly was able to establish itself as a brand where clients can find a very new gift-wrapping experience. The first business to successfully introduce fabric wraps to the markets and create a gifting trend across the UAE and the GCC.
2014
MASKA is committed to positively impacting its community. In 2014, we launched the Sewing Machine Initiative, where we supported children’s education and disadvantaged families through providing the women in the household with home-based jobs. We introduced a line of MASKA wraps produced by them.
2015
We moved into our offices at the Dubai Design District, where our creative team started to come together.
2018
Our clients are so special to us, their love and support make us who we are. In appreciation, we wanted to celebrate their special moments with them. We started a postcard series to celebrate their birthdays!
2021
Our first collaboration with a local artist to create the most beautiful wraps! Graphic Artist Amal AlGurg added even more beauty and elegance to our wraps.
2023
