A fun and unique gift for 'Hag Ellaila' (حق الليلة) and Gergai’an (قرقيعان)
Inspired by the cherished memories and nostalgia of the UAE in the 70s, when we would sit in front of TVs as kids and watch with excitement the young girls dancing with their colored thobes (traditional dresses), we've designed a modern & playful metal can to celebrate Hag Ellaila and Gergai’an.
A fun neon tag with tassel are attached with verse taken from traditional folk songs sung by children on the occasion, translating to “Allah protect their daughter”.
The cans are filled with candy featuring a selection of nostalgic treats reminiscent of those found in Emirati neighborhood grocery stores during the 80s and 90s (Refer to photo)
*Hag Ellaila is a traditional Emirati celebration on the night of the mid of Shabaan (the 8th month of the Islamic Hijri calendar) where children visit neighbors chanting folk songs and collecting candy.
